Spectroscopy specialists, Gilden Photonics are expanding. They have recently relocated to a purpose-built facility on the Clydebank Business Park, just minutes from Glasgow airport.
Gilden has already seen spectacular growth since its formation and this move will allow them to take the company to the next phase in its rapid development. The new facilities provide a new suite of offices, manufacturing workshop and customer showroom.
The company, whose staff bring over 50 man-years of practical experience in spectroscopy instrumentation, design and development, put their success down to having a first-hand understanding of the requirements of their customers. All their products are designed and configured with the user in mind, ensuring that they are provided with first-rate instrumentation at an affordable price.
Products are available in modular form, allowing total flexibility to integrate into existing spectroscopy equipment or to configure as a complete system. Key components include spectrographs, monochromators, light sources, detectors, sample chambers and opto-mechanical positioners.
Advice is always at hand to help customers achieve the best solution for a particular application. For example, Gilden has provided high-performance measurement systems for the characterisation of light sources and detectors, the measurement of colour and the measurement of the spectral characteristics of a wide variety of solid and liquid samples by several different spectroscopic techniques including fluorescence, luminescence and Raman spectroscopy.
Co-founder Dr John Gilchrist said “Having worked on the design and development of our spectroscopy products for many years, I am delighted to be able to share these with fellow scientists. Our expansion into new facilities will enable us to serve our customers even better.”
